The Board of Directors of the Nece Hopson Memorial Foundation (NHMF) takes this opportunity to Thank You for your support during 2023! Because of you, we were able to make a major impact on our community by blessing over 1,000 individuals or families. We truly appreciate you and the annual support you provided and hope that you will consider this Foundation as one of your non-profit organizations to support in 2024. A summary of our 2023 programs and accomplishments is listed below:
- Scholarships: Awarded $6000 in scholarships to 6 local high school seniors.
- Back to School Supplies: Distributed 307 bags of school supplies, 200 personal hygiene bags and lunches to area students.
- Sponsored back to school haircuts for 20 students in partnership with a local barbershop.
- Winter Warmth: Distributed coats, hats, and gloves to 40 children from 5 elementary schools.
- Summer Camp: Sponsored a game truck for a summer camp for 20 youth.
- CARE: Distributed 140 Spring Break lunches and contributed two food items for week-end food bags for an average of 45 students.
- Senior Citizens: Distributed 125 bags of cleaning supplies to local senior citizens.
- Food Bank: Donated over 150 non-perishable items to a local food bank.
- Thanksgiving Outreach: Distributed bags of fresh vegetables (collard greens) to 225 families of the community.
- Youth in Sports: Provided sponsorships to a youth volleyball team and a football player.
- Birthday Memorial Random Acts of Kindness: Randomly selected individuals and gave away 16 monetary gift cards.
- Christmas Outreach: Distributed 120 bags of fruit to various youth.
